It is a long time before Apple continues to release the iPhone 13, but now, some leaked information has been revealed. According to Japanese sources, the iPhone 13 will have no design changes compared to the iPhone 12, and can be considered as an iPhone 12s version.
Apple changed the design of the iPhone 12, when it launched last fall. Therefore, the iPhone 13 will not have any changes in design. Apple plans to reuse the existing design on all four iPhone 13 models that will be released this year.
That means Apple will launch the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and finally the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max. All will have an identical design to their predecessor.
The rear camera cluster will also remain unchanged. But sources from the supply chain reveal that Apple will equip a sapphire glass panel at the top, helping to protect the camera lenses. This sapphire glass will have the same color as the back panel.
With such minimal design changes, the iPhone 13 could most likely be introduced to the market as the iPhone 12s. Apple usually releases the “s” version every two years, but in recent years it has not been as consistent.
The iPhone 7s was skipped over to the iPhone 8, as Apple switched from aluminum to glass. In 2018, Apple launched the iPhone Xs again, with a design identical to the iPhone X.
With the launch of the iPhone 13 without any design changes, it is very likely that this will be the “s” version of 2021.
Apple will make some minor upgrades on the camera of the iPhone 13. Including the four iPhone 13 models will have LiDAR sensors, the iPhone 13 Pro has an upgraded 2.5x telephoto camera. The new TrueDepth camera is smaller, but that doesn’t mean the notch will be narrower.
iPhone 13 will be released around September this year.
