iPhone 12 will support 4K video recording at 120fps and 240fps

As confirmed by ThingsApplePro, there will be at least some iPhone 12 models that support impressive video recording capabilities with 4K resolution, 120fps or 240fps. On the iPhone 11 Pro, 4K video recording is limited to 60fps, 240fps video recording is only available at 1080p.

Support for slow motion video formats in high resolution, found in the iOS14 beta code. News disclosure expert Max Weinbach also confirmed that Apple is testing this feature internally.

However, there are some doubts as to whether or not 240fps video recording can achieve 4K resolution, as this is far beyond what previous smartphones can do. Some claim that Apple may use frame interpolation algorithm to record 4K video at 120fps, then increase to 240fps.

This high-end feature will most likely be available only for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max versions. These two high-end versions will also be equipped with 120Hz ProMotion displays, with automatic switching between 60Hz and 120Hz.
