Introducing Intel Edison & # 8211; Part 1
Introducing Intel Edison
Intel Edison is a fairly small computer architecture equivalent to a stamp; It will change your perspective on future integrated systems with the growing popularity of IoT trends.
First of all I will go into the basic components of Edison that you will own when buying for $ 75 at Adafruit – NTEL® EDISON W / MINI BREAKOUT BOARD
Intel® Edison Compute Module
This is the core component Intel integrates the computing power that the Atom processor delivers. The module is small in size and connected via a 70-pin rear connector of the circuit, to be compatible with many IoT development platforms, Intel Edison can expand features through different breakboards. to serve each user's purpose.
Breakout Boards
To start with Intel Edison you need to purchase an extra circuit so that you can easily load the program and integrate some hardware modules if available. Two popular breakboard types for beginners are Mini Breakout Board and Arduino Breakout Board , other types like SparkFun Base Block
The mini breakboard is compact in size for beginners to learn and develop with Edison, every breakboard is connected to the compute module through a 70-foot slot, users need to gently connect the two components together. and make sure the signal is clear before proceeding to the next development.

Work with Intel Edison
Install Intel® IoT Developer Kit
To start with Edison, after connecting two hardware (compute module + breakboard), users need to proceed to connect two micro USB ports on the board (01 OTG port provides power for board operation, program loading and Storage device management + 01 Serial port directly connected to the operating system, this port does not power the device).

Perform a hardware connection check by checking the signal light on the circuit, if you see two bright LEDs that mean the signal is clear and can start installing / updating the operating system for Edison; In case there is no light or only one light is on, you need to check the wire or connection at the 70-foot interface.
Next, download the Intel® IoT Developer Kit from the manufacturer, which is a package that includes the built-in Poky Linux operating system, which simplifies the software upgrade process. You perform step-by-step installation according to the instructions of the program. Once completed, you can connect the wifi network and SSH to the device according to the login information you have set up.
Edison uses 2-core Intel Atom CPU and 1GB of RAM
Install Arduino IDE + Intel Edison board
To perform program loading via the Arduino IDE , you need to install the support library as shown below to start loading codes from the Arduino IDE.
