Intel Vice President: The motto “Only the strong survive” still flows in us

Intel now has a chip roadmap for next year. The 10nm Tiger Lake line for high-performance gaming laptops and content creators is expected in the first half of 2021. Meanwhile, the Rocket Lake-S (14nm) line aimed at mainstream desktops will be released. in Q1 2021. Both the Tiger Lake-H and Rocket Lake-S lines are expected to have 8 by 16 threads.

Late next year, Intel’s new generation of hybrid CPUs are expected to include Alder Lake-P and Alder Lake-S. These CPUs will be a combination of the Gracemont low power cores and the Golden Cove high performance cores.

Right now, Intel is going through a particularly tough day in the mainstream desktop market, with the onslaught of AMD’s Zen 3 series. Tiger Lake has somewhat improved the situation on its laptop lineup, but it is expected that the situation will become more difficult when the AMD Cezanne CPU series launches next year.

On the other front, Apple has just released Mac computers using ARM M1 chips and caused a shock to both giants manufacturing x86 chips as well as the processor industry. Meanwhile rumors about the M1X chip coming out next year will be even stronger.

Mr. Bryant feels the pandemic is bringing new life to the PC market as the need to work remotely is higher than ever. He also said that Intel has seen growth in the desktop sector coming in Q2 and Q3 2020 and expects this trend to continue.
