The death of black man George Floyd in a police arrest in Minneapolis created a wave of backlash and led to a series of protests across the United States.
On May 29, while hundreds of protesters gathered outside the White House, President Donald Trump was escorted into the bunker and stayed there for about an hour, according to the New York Times.

Although no photographs have been recorded of Mr. Trump in the basement, some of the older documents about the vault scene in the last time it was used – September 11, 2001 were released by Gizmodo.
The White House’s bunker, officially called the President’s Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), was built in the 1940s during World War II under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Roosevelt’s successor, President Harry Truman, renovated the White House and expanded the underground tunnel in 1948.
The basement was used by White House staff after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and there has been no sign that it was used the next time in 19 years since. According to Gizmodo, former President Barack Obama did not have to take refuge here, although during his term there were major protests in Washington. There is speculation that the basement was upgraded between 2010 and 2012 at a cost of about $ 375 million.
In 2015 and 2016, the National Archives published a number of photos inside the basement, showing what White House employees were doing down there after the September 11 attacks.

The basement is located below the East wing of the White House. At the time of the terrorist attack, incumbent President George W. Bush was in Florida. Some of the characters in the photo include Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice.
According to the 2008 book, Robert Swanbrough’s “Test by Fire: The War Presid President of George W. Bush”, Mr. Cheney was literally “lifted and brought down” by agents of Secret Service. The attack is terrorism. They are concerned that another plane could crash into the White House.

It is unclear if Mr. Trump will be taken to the shelter this time and how many secret agents will be needed to do that because he weighs about 108 kg.
Not only the President, but also the members of their family can be escorted to the cellar. On September 11, 2001, First Lady Laura Bush was brought down here although her husband was not at the White House at the time. Secret Service agents even want the Bush family to sleep in the shelter until the situation is more stable.
CNN said First Lady Melania Trump and her youngest son Barron may have been taken to the shelter on May 29. It is not yet known if any of Mr. Trump’s other employees are down there.
On June 1, Mr. Trump warned that he would mobilize troops to control the situation amid protests that continued to rock the United States. He said: “I have asked the states governors to mobilize the National Guard in a sufficient amount to control the situation on the street. I am mobilizing all civil and military resources to ensure American rights under the law. ”
