Huawei responded to the news of selling its high-end smartphone business

Tram Ho

Last year, Huawei sold its entire Honor sub-brand to a joint venture of 30 agents, distributors and businesses, including carrier China Telecom and several government-backed entities, such as Shenzhen Zhixin – a smart city development corporation headquartered in Shenzhen.

And recently, Reuters reported that Huawei is in talks to sell its high-end smartphone business, including the P and Mate smartphones. The source also said the talks were about to be completed, and the deal would be announced in a short time.

Prior to this information, Huawei has officially announced that it has no plans to sell its smartphone business.

However, rumors of selling sub-brand Honor have also been denied by Huawei. But in the end, Huawei still sold Honor. Therefore, we can not have any conclusions at the present time.

As expected, Huawei will still launch the P50 series earlier this year, and launch the Mate 50 series next fall.

Meanwhile, the Honor brand is preparing to launch the Honor V40 series of smartphones. These will be the first smartphones that Honor launches as a separate company. The Honor V40 will be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ processor.
