At the launch event of Huawei Nova 7-series yesterday, Huawei also introduced some interesting new products, one of which is a new Smart TV model called Huawei Smart Screen V55i. The highlight of this device is that it has a 4K resolution as well as a built-in “recessed” camera.

As the name suggests, Huawei Smart Screen V55i is equipped with a 55-inch screen with three ultra-thin bezels. This monitor uses an LCD panel, supports 90% of the DCI-P3 color range, and incorporates MEMC technology to smooth motion (upscale content 24fps to 60fps).

In terms of hardware, Smart Screen V55i is equipped with a Honghu Smart chip, this is a 4-core chip with two Cortex-A73 cores and two Cortex-A53 cores, comes with Mali-G51 graphics GPU and 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM.

In addition, the V55i also features an intelligent sound system with 8 speakers emitting around, allowing to reproduce and simulate a field sound in the most vivid way. Users can also use the virtual assistant feature to control this entire smart TV.

The next highlight of this product may come from the camera “sticking out” identical to the current smartphone models. This camera supports video calls with Full HD 1080p resolution and is capable of recording extremely low light videos (as Huawei claims). With the mechanism “sticking out”, this Smart TV will ensure the camera is only “poked” up when users need to use, ensuring maximum privacy.

In fact, the V55i is not Huawei’s first Smart TV to have a “protruding” camera. Earlier in early April, the company also launched a Smart Screen X65 with a fairly large camera system, larger than this V55i version.

Pricing for the Smart Screen V55i has not been disclosed by Huawei yet.
