Huawei recently launched an “all-in-one” computer called the MateStation X. Basically, the MateStation X has the same design as Apple’s iMac M1 series, with a screen that integrates the internal hardware. In, users can buy it and can use it right away without any other accessories.
Huawei MateStation X has the same design as a MateView screen, measuring 28.2 inches, using an IPS panel with a resolution of 4K (3840 x 2560) at 3:2 aspect ratio. Unlike the iMac, the display of the MateStation X has a much thinner bezel at the edges, for a more “tasty” user experience. According to the announcement, the screen of the MateStation X is a 10-bit color screen, supporting 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 100% of the sRGB color gamut, certified by TÜV Rheinland for blue light filtering and no flicker flicker icon. The thickness of the screen is 9.9mm, thinner than the 11.5mm on the new iMac M1.
The base of the MateStation X is designed to be quite large and thick because this is where the speaker system and other components are located. The display part can be tilted with just one finger.
In terms of performance, the MateStation X is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H CPU with integrated Radeon graphics, and Huawei also offers a version running the Ryzen 7 5800H chip for those who need more performance. The product comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM (2 8GB sticks) and 512GB NVMe SSD memory.
MateStation X is equipped with a 4-microphone system that allows the user’s voice to be picked up at a distance of up to 5 meters. The speaker system includes 2 5W speakers and 1 10W speaker, in addition to a 1MP 720p HD webcam for video calls.
Regarding the connection ports, MateStation X is equipped with 2 USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports (10W output charging capacity), 2 USB-A ports (USB 3.2 Gen 1), supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and has a jack. 3.5mm headphone jack. Like the iMac, Huawei also includes a Huawei Wireless Keyboard (with integrated fingerprint sensor) and Huawei Bluetooth Mouse AF30.
MateStation X will run on Windows 10 at launch, with the possibility of a free upgrade to Windows 11 in the future.
In terms of price, MateStation X will be sold in the Chinese market with a starting price of 9999 yuan, equivalent to 35.3 million dong for the standard version. This price is on par with the iMac M1 series sold in China. The product has two color options, silver and gray.
