HTC launches a new low-cost smartphone

Today (August 7), HTC has quietly launched a new smartphone in Russia, called Wildfire E2. This product belongs to the low-cost segment, owns a large screen, a “modest” chipset, a huge battery and comes with a 3-camera system on the back.

Specifications and features

HTC Wildfire E2 has a plastic back with physical dimensions 154 x 75.9 x 8.59mm and weighs 173.5 grams. The phone is equipped with a 6.2 inch IPS LCD display, HD + resolution (720 x 1560 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9.

Inside, the Wildfire E2 possesses the hardware power coming from MediaTek’s Helio P22 processor, combined with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, supporting storage expansion with a microSD card.

The back of the Wildfire E2 is home to a 16MP + 2MP dual camera system arranged vertically and located in the top left corner. In addition, it also has a fingerprint sensor on the back to help users unlock the device more easily.

The phone has an 8MP selfie camera, comes with a 4000mAh battery – can provide up to 20 hours of talk time, 25 hours of music playback and 6 hours of video playback. The device is pre-installed with Android 10 operating system when sold, supports 2 SIMs, 4G VoLTE, uses microUSB port and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Selling price and time of release

As expected, HTC Wildfire E2 will soon be on shelves in Russia with a retail price of RUB 9990 (about 3.2 million). The device comes in two color variations to choose from, including Black and Blue. As of now, it’s not clear if HTC will sell the phone in other markets.
