How to view and change the Wi-Fi password connected on a Windows 10 computer

By default, Windows will save the passwords that the user has entered when connecting to a Wi-Fi network. And in case of necessity, users can review and manage the list of Wi-Fi connections, including the password that the Windows computer previously connected.

Method 01 – “Traditional” style
Open Settings and access Network & Internet.
The list of Network & Internet items appears, click “WiFi”.
Click on the “Network and Sharing Center” option.
The familiar Control Panel dialog box appears and accesses the network connection item currently present on the computer. Now, click on the Wi-Fi name in the Connections line.
The connection status window appears, click “Wireless Properties”.
Click on the Security tab in the new window that appears and check the “Show charaters” line.
Immediately Windows will give you the password of the Wi-Fi network that the computer is connected to on “Network security key”.
If you want to see a list of Wi-Fi networks that your Windows 10 computer has ever connected, you can go to Settings> Network & Internet> WiFi> Manage know networks.
The list of Wi-Fi networks that the Windows 10 computer has connected will appear.
When clicking on one of the Wi-Fi network names, you will be given the option to view details about that Wi-Fi network (Properties) or delete it if you want (Forget).
Method 02 – Use Windows PowerShell
If you prefer to use the command line, you can use Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt to view the Wi-Fi password as follows.
Open Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt according to your preferences, then enter the command “netsh wlan show profiles”.
Immediately Windows will display the Wi-Fi connection name being used by the computer. To see the password information of this Wi-Fi network, use the command “netsh wlan show profile name =” NETWORK “key = clear”. NETWORK is the Wi-Fi name.
Windows will then display details about the information, as well as the status of the Wi-Fi network you require. Attached is the connection password that appears in the “Key Content” line.
Method 03 – Use WirelessKeyView software of NirSoft
If you want faster, you can use WirelessKeyView software, which is provided free of charge by NirSoft. Using is quite simple, just download WirelessKeyView here , discharge and launch the software.
WirelessKeyView will scan and display the list of Wi-Fi networks that the computer has connected, along with the password.
