Ho Chi Minh City will need to recruit about 27,000 workers in August, according to the results of a survey released on July 20.

Demand for workers is highest in the information technology, textiles, garments and real estate sectors, along with the architecture, transportation, construction, logistics and sales sectors, the survey by the city’s Centre for Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labour Market Information (FALMI) found.

Unskilled workers account for 30% of the demand, technical workers account for 25%, vocational workers for 17%, and postgraduates/undergraduates for 28% of the demand.

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Director of FALMI, said job opportunities for skilled, qualified and experienced employees would continue to increase. New graduates will have to compete for jobs with experienced workers.

Compared to June, the recruitment demand increased about 17% in July, with most of the demand coming from major sectors such as tourism, hotel and restaurant services, sales and information technology.
