Google’s Pixel smartphones will also lose the privilege of free storage on Google Photos

The existing and on-sale Google Pixel smartphones will be the last smartphones to enjoy unlimited high-quality photo storage privileges for free on Google Photos.

Yesterday, Google announced that Google Photos’ free unlimited photo storage service would end June 1, 2021. However, Pixel smartphone owners still enjoy this privilege. Even so, Google also confirmed that every future Pixel smartphone will no longer have this privilege.

This is not the first time that Google has stripped the prerogative of Pixel smartphone users. Previously, one of the interesting perks of Pixel smartphone users was the ability to save original images for free, uncompressed in Google Photos. But starting this June, users will have to pay when the storage exceeds 15GB, or they will have to store somewhere else.
