Google Play Store starts letting users pay with Google Play Point

Tram Ho

If you’ve accumulated a bunch of Google Play Points over the years and don’t know what to do with them, you can now use them to purchase apps directly from the Google Play Store. At the checkout step when buying apps, Google has added the option to pay with Google Play Point instead of with a credit card.

The payment is very simple, you just need to follow the steps to buy the application or game as usual. There will be a new option called “Use points”, when clicked you can use Google Play Points to pay.

One Google Play Point is equivalent to one cent ($0.01). So if you want to buy an app that costs 1 USD, you will need 100 points. Before Google allowed direct payments with Google Play Points, users could only use these points to redeem coupons when purchasing apps on the Google Play Store.

Google first launched the Google Play Point system in 2018. You can earn Google Play Points by purchasing apps, paying for apps and games on the Play Store, or buying books, movies, and TV shows. .
