Yesterday, CNBC reported that former President Donald Trump’s blog has been shut down, less than a month after its launch. Mr. Trump has vowed to create a new social networking platform to compete with Facebook and Twitter, but the result is just a personal blog page where he can share his thoughts while the online accounts His society is still banned.

The blog “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” launched on May 4, after the former US President was banned by Facebook and Twitter earlier this year. Trump’s senior aide Jason Miller confirmed to CNBC that the blog will be closed permanently. The blog has been removed from Mr. Trump’s website, while older posts are kept in a separate section of the site.

Trump was banned by Facebook and Twitter in January 2021, after the riot at the Capitol and Trump’s account is believed to have started this riot. Immediately after the ban, Mr. Trump announced that he would create a new social networking platform to replace Facebook and Twitter.

On Facebook and Twitter before, the former US President’s account has attracted a lot of followers. However, Mr. Trump’s new blog has received little attention. According to NBC News, Trump’s blog only achieved a total of 212,000 interactions in the whole of May 2021. While just one previous post by Trump on Facebook or Twitter also had millions of interactions.

This may be the reason why this blog site is permanently closed, when it does not attract interest. But former President Donald Trump still won’t stop there. As reported by The Wall Street Journal, Trump is in talks with new platforms like CloutHub and FreeSpace, which could become his new social media platform.
