Those who are using a level 1 electronic identity account will not be able to use the VNeID application to replace CCCD when checking in at the airport.

To register for a level 2 electronic identity account, after having a CCCD with a chip, citizens need to go directly to the commune, ward or township police (regardless of the place of permanent or temporary residence) or Go to the place where CCCD card is issued to complete the procedure for issuing an electronic personal identification account.

Electronic identification application – VNeID, developed by the National Population Data Center of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, provides online utilities for people in the electronic environment.
