Accordingly, users are notified that from February 7, 2022, Facebook will remove the avatar video feature, then the cover image of the video (cover) is considered as the new avatar. Users who are using a video as their profile picture are advised to replace the video with a still image.

It seems that this social networking platform has quietly turned off the option to set the video as the avatar image. On the Reddit forum, many people have announced that they can no longer choose videos as avatars. It is still unclear why Facebook decided to remove this 7-year-old feature.

The avatar video feature, introduced by Facebook in 2015, allows users to set a 7-second video clip as their profile picture, rather than just a traditional still image.
