According to Facebook, “Professional Mode” helps users understand the effectiveness of their posts, then build on those insights to create content that helps you attract a wider audience.

“You can use professional tools to expand your audience and monetize (if eligible.) Your profile’s category is set to ‘Digital Content Creator'”, social network mentioned in the announcement.

Reportedly, the feature is part of parent company Meta’s $1 billion investment in content creators, which includes bonuses for Instagram influencers and an expansion into its Stars program. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced late last year.

The most attractive to mention is the Professional Profile mode that also allows users to make money from Facebook Reels, with the feature of posting short videos similar to TikTok. Reels is a feature on Instagram and has been tested by Meta on Facebook since September 2021.

Each content creator can earn up to $35,000 per month from Facebook Reels, depending on their video views. In the early stages, only creators who meet certain criteria, for example, number of followers, are eligible to enable this monetization.

There is a note regarding privacy. When you turn on pro mode, “anyone can follow you and see your public content in their feed,” says Facebook. However, you’ll still be able to limit specific posts or updates to friends only.

Facebook is trying to boost its community of creators to catch up with rival platforms, especially TikTok, which has surpassed 3 billion downloads and is ahead of Facebook in user engagement.
