Experience 3 applications to find toilets in Vietnam, is it better than Google Maps?

In the 4.0 era, technology has crept into every most hidden corner of life. Car booking apps, food calling help users save time with just one click. Electronic wallets are the perfect solution to minimize paper money, helping to protect the environment. There are even applications … to find toilets, specialized for tourists who need to “solve the sadness” in a strange place.

Born in 2017, but the applications to find toilets are still quite strange to the people of Vietnam. Webuy has selected 3 outstanding applications on the Android platform and tried it in 2 different locations to get a more practical experience about the performance and quality of this quite useful listening idea.

To use the app, users only need to turn on GPS and 3G / Wifi mode, the application will determine the user’s location and quickly search for nearby public toilets.

On Google Play, this app is rated 3.2 / 5 stars by users. Toilet Map uses Google Maps to search for toilets and navigation. The application only has English version but can display location in Vietnamese without font error.

However, in one of the two locations that Webuy tested, this application determines the user position deviating from the fact about … half a kilometer. A few meters away from where Webuy stood there was a large trade center, but Webuy only saw the application offering two toilet locations from a few hundred meters to several kilometers away. It was not until the map enlarged that Webuy found more options.

Toilet Map has a user class filter, including “Wheelchair Toilet”, “Fee level”, “Baby changing place for baby”, “Used object” and “Operator phone number” . When pressing an icon marked with a toilet on the map will show detailed information as in the filter. Some business locations show additional hours of opening / closing services. In addition to information that is the directional arrow icon, users only need to touch to navigate to the Google Map navigation.

The app also has a paid version of Pro to block ad, favorite toilet and sponsor new versions in the future, only 45,000 VND for three upgrade offers that sound very unattractive.

Toilet Finder

This app is rated 3.9 / 5 stars by Android users. When opened, the application quickly locates and delivers the results of finding toilets in just 2 seconds, including public toilets and hospitals and restaurants where you can “go”. You can also quickly view your toilets list at the “Show toilets list” tab. In the area where Webuy tested, the application to find the nearest toilet is 1.7km from the user location.

Similar to Toilet Map, Toilet Finder also has an advanced search filter but is a more advanced version. You can find your own male or female toilet, choose a location according to your preference (public toilet, luxurious restaurant or fragrant hotel). In addition, the filter also divides toilet into 2 types: free and paid, although it is known that few people want to click on the second one.

In addition to toilet searching, the app also allows users to post additional toilet locations, send feedback, evaluate stars and use health reminders (Health Reminders), in general no less than any application. Any booking or order. Another plus for Toilet Finder is that you can use it without registering an account.

Speaking of minus points, Toilet Finder probably needs to improve the display of Vietnamese fonts. Because most places written in Vietnamese have font errors, inconvenience for users. But if it is for foreign tourists, it is quite good, even this application can be changed to German, French and Arabic versions.

ToiFi

Rated 3.6 / 5 stars by Android users, this app is worse than the Toilet Finder and Toilet Map. The search results showed that the nearest toilet was standing by Webuy… more than 2km. In cases where sadness is about to explode, moving about 2km is probably an impossible thing.

In return, users can click on the List item to quickly see the toilet list around. Each toilet provides complete information from distance lengths, fees, users and types of toilets. As for the specific address and the way, ToiFi did not say.

Although it has all the disadvantages, this application also removes the gauze with the standard Vietnamese font. There is also a separate photo sharing toilet check-in to connect user communities in France, India, Turkey, USA or Australia. Currently, Webuy has not seen any image of check-in from the bridgehead of Vietnam.

Applications to find toilets seem more suitable for foreign tourists, or in the case of reaching outlying areas. In urban areas, we can easily find toilets at restaurants, clothing shops or commercial centers. In general, using Google Maps is still more convenient, it is not necessary to install additional applications for heavy machines, and not be advertised.
