The Earthlings inhabiting the Mars colonies will not be governed by ‘any of the governments on Earth’. Instead, these colonies would adhere to their own ‘principles of self-governance’.
You may not believe it, but this is a term recently discovered by users in the Starlink Application Terms of Service – a satellite internet service being developed by SpaceX. This means, SpaceX asserted that the company’s mission to conquer Mars will not comply with the laws of current international law.
Residents living in the colonies founded by SpaceX will adhere to their own ‘principles of self-governance’.
“For (Internet) services provided on Mars, or in transit to Mars using Starship or other spacecraft, the parties recognize Mars as a free, free planet, and no government. Which on Earth has authority or sovereignty over activities on Mars ”
Instead, disputes “will be resolved through the principles of self-governance, established in good faith, at the time of resolution on Mars,” stated the Starlink app’s terms of service.
Interestingly, the terms of service of this application also note that Earthlings will be required to obey the laws of the state of California (USA) if using Starlink’s Internet service on the Moon.

According to Dailymail, these terms of service come just a week after SpaceX revealed its plans to build a giant satellite system around Mars, similar to the Starlink system on Earth. Accordingly, this system will provide Internet services for residents living on the Red Planet in the future, and also act as a communication channel with the Earth.
This is part of Elon Musk’s latest plan to conquer Mars, which set out to build a colony capable of being ‘self-sufficient’ and ‘independent of the Earth’. Specifically, the technology billionaire insists that settlers on the Red Planet will need to be self-sufficient in case ‘ships from Earth stop arriving for any reason,’ such as during World War. 3rd broke out.
