Elon Musk is the richest man in the world

Earlier, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was usurped by Bernard Arnault, CEO of French luxury brand LVMH. Musk stayed at #2 on the list for more than two months. However, on Feb. 27, Bloomberg reported that a rally in Tesla shares has brought Musk back to the top of the charts based on the real-time billionaire index.

Musk’s net worth was around $187.1 billion as of Feb. 27 after the market closed, while Arnault’s was $185.3 billion.

Tesla shares plummeted last year amid a troubled Twitter acquisition and a downturn in the tech market. Still, the electric-car maker’s stock has surged in 2023.

Musk holds the title of the richest person in the world today, and holds the record for the largest loss of wealth in history. At the end of 2022, Musk became the first person to lose a fortune of $200 billion — after the billionaire’s net worth fell from about $340 billion in November 2021 to $137 billion in November. 12/2022.

Elon Musk is also a member of the “secret society” San Vicente Bungalows, a high-class club of Hollywood in Los Angeles. Elon Musk is one of the very few tech CEOs to become a member of the San Vicente Bungalows thanks to his close ties to Hollywood, like businessman Ari Emanuel and comedian Nathan Fielder.

Since taking over Twitter, the CEO has conducted a series of large-scale layoffs. Over the weekend, Twitter continued to lay off about 200 employees.
