“My pronoun is Prosecution/Fauci,” the Twitter boss wrote in a tweet posted on the morning of December 11, in a statement that both attacked Dr. Fauci and mocked the pronouns used by the transgender community.

After this suggestion, the Twitter user reiterated the Tesla CEO’s prediction that the COVID-19 pandemic would “almost no cases in the US by the end of April (2020)”.

Although it is not clear why Musk attacked Mr. Fauci, the billionaire expressed skepticism when this expert advised President Joe Biden to apply another blockade, despite the decrease in the number of deaths and hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in recent months.

Just a few weeks ago, Twitter quietly dropped its policy of censoring COVID-19 misinformation.

After pledging to prevent “malicious misinformation” about COVID-19 through content screening during the early stages of the pandemic, the social media company warned 11.72 million accounts, stopping 11,230 other accounts and content categories 97,674 around the world, as of September this year.

Although he did not directly respond to Musk’s comments, Dr. Fauci recently criticized “cowardly” internet pranksters who harassed him and his family during the pandemic.

“Those guys play pranks and harass my wife and children because they know where we live and our phone numbers,” Mr Fauci said in an interview with the BBC.

On this week’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace,” Dr. Fauci said he’s ready to face an investigation after Republicans take control of the House.

On August 22, Fauci announced that he would step down as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, director of the NIAID Immunology Laboratory and President Biden’s chief medical adviser this December.
