Channels occupied by hackers range from games to music, but focus mainly on the group of singers and celebrities active in showbiz such as Ly Hai, Ho Quang Hieu, Kim Ny Ngoc, Tong Gia Vy, To Ngoc Bao Linh (Lynk Lee), boss Vu Khac Tiep …

Tens of channels of millions of subs have been hacked to livestream Bitcoin scam this afternoon

Although this morning, the artists with the lost YouTube channel have regained their admin rights. However, some channels are currently temporarily locked out of the livestream function due to a violation of YouTube’s community guidelines. Owners of these channels said, are appealing and waiting for results from YouTube.

According to some experts, the owner of the above mentioned YouTube channels could be hacked by clicking on the link containing malicious code in the email, even after applying two-layer security measures. From there, hackers can easily take control of the YouTube channel and upload videos without any hindrance. In addition, there is another possibility that the key stream was exposed during setup, from which anyone who obtained the key can create a live stream on these channels.

This trick is similar to the scam on Twitter in July 2020

Over the past time, many Vietnamese YouTube channels have been hacked, even renamed and then streamed content to receive cryptocurrencies. The attack time usually falls in the middle of the night, causing the owners of these channels to fail in time, resulting in an immediate channel flight.

Luckily, in the last attack, it happened around noon to afternoon, so the channel owner can respond promptly by reporting to YouTube support. In fact, the big channels are in the multichannel network (MCN), so it is not difficult to regain the channel safely.

It is not clear which group of hackers were behind this attack, but it is most likely originated from the same attack on Twitter back in July this year. At that time, many Twitter accounts with green traces such as Apple, Bill Gates, Elon Musk … posted fraudulent content to receive Bitcoin, causing at least 367 people to be deceived to lose an amount of Bitcoin worth $ 120,000 at that time.
