Concept iPad mini with the design of iPad Pro: Smaller, more beautiful

Tram Ho

When rumors surfaced of a new iPad mini coming next year, designer Parker Ortolani released a concept that Apple should probably study. The new iPad mini concept applies the design language of the iPad Pro, turning this lightweight iPad into a smaller, more luxurious and beautiful iPad.

Parker Ortolani’s concept introduces an iPad mini that is up to 20% smaller than current iPad mini models. Although there is also an unchanged 7.9-inch screen, the overall size has decreased significantly due to changes in the border design. No physical home button, the screen border is also thinner.

The Touch ID fingerprint sensor has also been replaced by Face ID. Basically, we have an iPad Pro mini, with a 7.9-inch screen. The characteristic white of the previous generation iPad, has also been replaced by the black of the new generation iPad Pro.

In fact, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple will launch a new iPad mini, with screens from 8.5 inches to 9 inches, in the first half of 2021. The purpose is that Apple wants to isolate the line. iPad, out of the upcoming 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Apple may increase the overall size of the new iPad mini, or it may also reduce the size of the screen borders to keep the overall size the same. In the second case, the design of the iPad mini may change slightly.

However, in order to distinguish the iPad Pro and iPad mini, perhaps Apple will not change the design similar to the concept of Parker Ortolani. What a pity.
