With the launch of the iPhone 12 in the middle of this week, Apple made a relatively daring decision, when it would cut the charger and earphones out of the box. According to Apple, this is a measure to “protect the environment”, when it thinks that the majority of users already have these accessories, and integrating them into new iPhones is redundant.
This decision by Apple not only affects the next generation of iPhone 12, but also affects other old iPhone models that it is selling such as iPhone 11, iPhone XR and iPhone SE 2020. So in the near future Users who buy a new iPhone, regardless of the new model or the old model, will receive a new thinner canning design due to the lack of charging and earphones inside.
While waiting for the new iPhone 12 to reach users, Youtuber Rjey recently shared the first unboxed pictures of the iPhone 12 with a new packaging.
The box of the new iPhone 12 has a similar front-facing design than before.
However, when viewed from the side, users will see that the new iPhone 11 box has been significantly thinner.
Compared with the box of the previous iPhone generation, it can be seen that the box of the new iPhone 11 is only half as thin.
The charger and the EarPods have been removed, and the box is only a Lightning to USB-C cable. Originally, the iPhone 11 came with a Lightning to USB-A cable, but after this packaging change, Apple replaced the Lightning to USB-C cable.
Some papers have also been reduced in size, now only about 1/2 of the original. Users also only get 1 Apple sticker, compared to 2 of the previous.
Because the charger is not included, so if users want to take advantage of the included Lightning to USB-C charger, they will have to spend $ 19 to buy an Apple charger (or third-party brands). Naturally, users can also reuse old chargers they have.
Left, the iPhone 11 has not changed, except for a new starting price of 599 USD, down 100 USD compared to this time last year.
