What information does the QR code on a chip-mounted CCCD card contain?

According to Circular 06/2021/TT-BCA stipulating the CCCD card model with chip, in addition to the electronic chip, the QR code printed on the card helps the cardholder to check the card’s information.

Accordingly, the QR code contains the following information:

– Number of CCCD with chip.

– Old ID card number.

– First and last name.

– Date of birth.

– Gender.

– Permanent address.

Thanks to this QR code, people go to handle administrative procedures; No need to bring the old ID number confirmation.

During the implementation of administrative, civil and agency transactions; Organizations and units can use the QR code scanning function to check personal information, citizen’s ID number on CCCD card with electronic chip and use that as a basis for processing procedures.

Accordingly, when this information is wrong, it will affect transactions, procedures must use CCCD card with chip.

How to view personal information from QR code on CCCD card with chip for phone

Step 1. For Android phones, download the Google Lens app to your device.

Step 2: After downloading, open the application, point the camera at the QR code on the chip CCCD card and the relevant content will appear on the phone screen immediately.

* For iphone phones, no need to download QR scanning application to the device. Just open the camera, point at the QR code on the CCCD chip and the results will appear on the screen.

How to handle errors when scanning QR codes on CCCDs with incorrect information?

According to the Ministry of Public Security, when scanning the QR code on the CCCD with a chip that does not have the old ID card number or the old ID number is wrong, citizens can do the following:

Method 1: Use a certificate of ID card number

Regarding the issuance of certificates of identification number, in Article 15 of Circular 07/2016/TT-BCA (amended and supplemented in Circular 40/2019/TT-BCA) stipulates as follows:

– Citizens are granted a Certificate of ID number for all cases of transferring from a 9-digit ID card to a CCCD card.

– When changing 12-digit ID card via CCCD, if the ID number is damaged, peeling, unclear (photo, ID number and text), a Certificate of ID number will be issued.

Therefore, if the QR code in the CCCD with the chip does not show the old ID card number, the citizen can use the certificate of ID number to perform transactions and procedures.

Method 2: Contact the police where the procedure for issuing CCCD with chip has been carried out to supplement and update information.
