China is now looking forward to a future where it can be self-sufficient in both hardware and software, instead of depending on US products as before.
According to recent information from MyDrivers, Chinese domestic CPUs made by Zhaoxin are compatible with the Unity operating system of this country. This is the result of self-sufficiency efforts both in hardware and software of the country, instead of having to depend on technology products from the United States. Especially when China recently launched a new institution that requires the replacement of all hardware and software products in the country with domestic products in the next 3 years.
The source comes from Tongxin Software, the developer of Unity operating system, whose operating system is based on KaiXian KX-6000 and KaiSheng KH-30000 CPUs. Zhaoxin CPUs use a 16nm architecture with 8 cores and a base clock speed of 3GHz. According to Zhaoxin, they have production plans for the next generation of CPUs next year.
The ZhaoXian KX-6000 CPU, made by Zhaoxin, is said to be as powerful as Intel’s 7th-generation Core i5 chip
In terms of performance, the KaiXian KX-6000 CPU is said to be as powerful as Intel’s 7th Generation Core i5 (Kaby Lake) chips. The CPU also supports DirectX 11.1, along with dual-channel DDR4-3200 memory controller, and basic interfaces such as PCIe, SATA, USB, etc. Meanwhile, the KaiSheng KH-30000 chip for the server is also Works very stably on test server systems.
According to Tongxin Software, they will continue to work with Zhaoxin to continue optimizing the Unity operating system on KaiXian and KaiSheng CPUs. At the same time, in the near future, the company will strive to ensure Unity will run on other Chinese domestic CPUs such as Loongson, FeiTeng, ShenWei, Kunpeng and Hygon.
Tongxin’s top priority for the time being is to develop Unity operating system to completely replace Windows operating system in China.
