Check out the coolest new Apple Stores in the world

When you walk into one of the more than 500 Apple Store retail stores around the world, you’re sure to be struck by the minimalist style with white walls and sophisticated counters. However, that’s not what you’ll see in the few new stores opening in 2021 in Rome, Istanbul and Los Angeles. Here, you can see more interesting architecture.

Apple Via del Corso, Rome

The 17th Apple Store in Italy is located in the 19th century Palazzo Marignoli. From 1890 to 1955, the building housed a café and restaurant, serving as a gathering point for artists, author in the city.

Apple Via del Corso opened in May 2021, decorated with centuries-old murals, frescoes and other artwork, as well as 1950s graffiti by Italian artist Afro Basaldella. Apple has restored the original facade of the palace and the grand marble staircase that is 33 years old.

Apple Bağdat Caddesi, Istanbul

This is the third Apple Store in Turkey, the work of architecture firm Foster + Partners with the goal of creating a “green oasis” in the heart of Istanbul.

The store has a garden full of green trees, a glass wall 9m high, bringing flood of natural light. It also has 2 skylights for ventilation. The interior is in a local style, using granite from Aksaray Yaylak and Turkish limestone for the ceiling and walls.

Apple Tower Theater, Los Angeles

Apple Tower Theater opens in June 2021, also a restoration project. The original building was a theater from 1927. Apple restored the space, which had been empty since it closed in 1988, revamping the lobby in a Broadway style and ornately decorated with a grand arched staircase. , with brass handrails and marble columns.

The second floor also features a balcony with a view of the theater’s auditorium, now a wall-mounted video screen below the dome.

Apple The Grove, Los Angeles

Apple opened its first Los Angeles store in The Grove, an outdoor shopping mall, in 2002. Two decades later, the company moved The Grove to a neighboring space, twice the size of the original location. The interior is remarkable with its full mirror overflow ceiling, reflecting the customers and the trees below.
