[CES 2020] Dell introduces Concept Ori and Concept Duet: Laptop with a folding screen design and two screens

Ori Concept and Concept Duet.

At the ongoing CES 2020 event, Dell brought two entirely new laptop prototypes. It is Concept Ori with folding screen and Concept Duet with dual screen design. Two Dell prototypes show what future laptops will look like, with the complete removal of the keyboard and trackpad to replace them with touch screens.

Ori Concept.

The Ori concept with a folding screen, quite similar to Samsung Galaxy Fold but a laptop.

The Ori concept with a folding screen looks very similar to the prototype folding screen laptop that Lenovo introduced last year. While Concept Duet two screens are similar to Microsoft’s Surface Neo (however, Microsoft’s device has not been launched yet).

Ori concept comes with a stylus.

The display is good, but there are still visible folds in the hinge.

The Ori concept is named after the Japanese Origami art. Dell did not disclose too many details and specifications of this laptop. We only know that Concept Ori has a 13-inch screen when expanded, and QHD + resolution. The display is quite good, although one can see folds on the screen. This laptop runs Windows 10 operating system.

Concept Duet.

Concept Duet is a laptop with a keyboard and trackpad part replaced by a second touch screen. The two displays of Concept Duet are 13.4 inches in size, with FHD resolution. Two separate screens can be used for multitasking, or they can display the same content as a large screen.

Concept Duet has two 13.4-inch screens, which can use many different modes.

Dell says Concept Duet will run Windows 10X operating system specifically for dual-screen laptops, but the operating system has not yet been officially launched by Microsoft.

Dell also showcased a very interesting reading experience on Concept Duet, where each screen is a page of books and you can turn each page like a real book. In addition, Dell also equipped with accessories that can be placed on either touch screen, which acts as a trackpad or traditional keyboard to help users work.

These two laptops are just the first prototypes of Dell, so we do not know when they will actually be launched on the market and the price is how much. But you can see that this is the future of the laptop.
