The Captcha concept was founded in the 2000s by engineers at Carnegie Mellon University. This is an acronym for ‘Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart’, roughly translated as a Turing test of public automation to identify people or machines.
Turing here is the name of computer scientist Alan Mathison Turing living in the early 19th century in England, who gave the famous test to test the intelligence of a computer to distinguish who is human.
Typing Captcha is a job that hurts eyes, headaches, and handaches and the remuneration is very cheap.
The funny thing is that after being invented by humans to prevent spam / bots on the Internet, thousands of other people were paid to enter Captcha codes like machines to bypass the system. This is the beginning of the job of typing Captcha to make money, which was heavily advertised in Vietnam in the decade of 2010 and still lasts until today.
There was a time when, recruiting forms to type Captcha to make money appeared rampant in our country, but mainly to deceive students, who were gullible. Until now, such recruiting messages still exist scatteredly somewhere on social networks, waiting for the prey to trap, especially in the difficult situation of Covid-19 as today.
Estimated income from captcha typing is very low, but still tens of thousands of people jumped in.
This is a bad and bad job, but the amount earned is only about 40,000 – 50,000 VND / hour (if done according to the requirements). That is less than 1.5 USD for every 1,000 times of entering the correct code, there is no risk of being locked out of the account and losing money if you enter too much wrong.
In fact, captcha typists can only withdraw money when the balance in the account reaches the minimum. Even more unlucky, the Captcha typing pages can burst money right before someone can withdraw money. That is not to mention the cost of electricity, water, food, amortization, computer damage, furniture that the Captcha knockers make money without thinking about.
“Before, it was easy, but now because it’s often outnumbered, the code’s creepiness is increasing. Hidden characters appear like a puzzle, confusing i with l, 0 with o as a meal. But according to the wrong law, one character is gone, ”shared a member on Voz forum.
Later, Google acquired and developed Captcha to a new level, called reCaptcha. This is the anti-spam / bot system that makes real people sweat with the identification phases of signs, traffic lights, bridges, cars that are full of puzzles.
Today, the notice of recruiting people typing Captcha still appears on the internet sometimes.
Even so, typing Captcha still has its own living ground. The famous Captcha typing sites in the world still have many people joining, although the effort is cheap. Statistics on Kolotibablo show that up to 111 Vietnamese people join this platform, just behind Indonesians (234) and Venezuelans (401). Another statistic on 2Captcha shows that there are still about 3,000 people online everyday to do the job typing Captcha.
Although not recommended, typing Captcha still find a way to survive as a form of making money online (MMO) advertised as simple and easy for everyone. And only when deeply involved in it, do people discover that they both take time and effort and help hackers to destroy the global Internet resources system.
