Boeing announced that it has upgraded the software for 737 MAX 8

After landing for more than 2 months, Boeing finally had an upgrade for the 737 MAX 8 software.

In its statement on May 16, Boeing said it had completed the software repair for the 737 MAX 8 – the aircraft had been suspended from mid-March after the company’s 302 crash. Airlines Ethiopian Airlines, and is the second plane crash within the past 5 months.

Also according to the company statement, Boeing completed the upgraded version, tested more than 360 hours with 207 test flights, along with simulator tests. This upgrade must still be approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) before being officially installed on board.

Boeing also added that the software upgrade for the 737 MAX 8 was completed a few weeks ago, but they had to be postponed when there were some concerns with the new upgrade. However, Boeing did not specify what concerns it was, and whether it was resolved in the latest update.
