Has anyone ever been like me, always working hard every day but not getting good results ??? Has anyone always asked why this is so?

I can be sure that one of us has encountered these problems – always being bombarded by day goals, personal projects, long to-do lists and constant emails. flood your inbox.

So how do you get it all done in the most efficient way?

One possible solution is to use a popular time-blocking system called the Pomodoro Technique.

In this article, I will talk about how the 25 minute Pomodoro technique can help you focus on important tasks, while avoiding common distractions with modern work experience.

Pomodoro is Italian, the equivalent in English is Tomato, only one fruit when ripe, red, divided, especially easy to eat. Vietnam we call tomatoes; and easy to use for many purposes, such as thrown to each other less painful.

But the Pomodoro we’re talking about here is an effective time management method to increase the productivity of individuals. The essence is like a tomato: RED – EASY TO EAT – THROWS AT LEAST . We call it the METHOD METER.

RED – Separating the work being done in small tasks, looking as beautiful as red tomatoes.

EASY – The time for each task is usually 25 minutes, 5 minutes break, then another 25 minutes, as easy as eating tomatoes.

LUCKLESSON – Every 25 minutes you know what you have accomplished, if not correct, you can immediately fix. Fixing small tasks is easier than fixing big jobs. Thus, improving small tasks will be less impactful, less painful and easier to succeed than improving big tasks and have been done for a long time.

THREE STEPS TO USE POMODORO EFFICIENCY

STEP 1 – Prepare the to-do list (to do list)

Identify tasks to be done with excel file or google spread sheet or task list in gmail calendar. Break down the tasks that are done in small tasks to be able to complete in 25 minutes time of Tomato Clock.

Paste a list of things you are doing on the desktop or print out a hard copy on the table. You can use evernote or stickynote to remember things.

STEP 2 – Perform the tasks in the order given in your work.

  1. Choose your task and the total time to work with it.
  2. Set the timer to 25 minutes (with an egg timer or with the app).
  3. Working in 25 minutes. Avoid all distractions and urge to multitask.
  4. Rest 5 minutes to renew your energy, start another Pomodoro.
  5. Rest 20-30 minutes after completing four Pomodoros.

Be patient because the first step can be boring or confined, but when done well, you will see the effect of extending your working time.

Simple, but very effective. When you use this technique, you will see a significant improvement in productivity and ability to get things done.

The principles of the Pomodoro method:

  1. In 1 Pomodoro (25-minute procedure, 5-minute break), if you have to interrupt, Pomodoro will be recalculated from the beginning, no 1/2 or 2/3 Pomodoro.
  2. Focus on doing only one thing at 100% of the time.
  3. If the job is completed before Pomodoro finishes, you need to use the remaining time to check and optimize the work until the end of that Pomodoro.
  4. During break periods (5-minute breaks, 10-minute breaks), you need real rest. Close your eyes, listen to music, drink water, massage your head, face, meditate, organize your desk, take a walk in the office, or do simple things that do not require much thought. When resting, absolutely avoid everything related to the Internet, Facebook … because they may stimulate your excitement, but the nature still makes the brain more tired.

STEP 3 – Set the clock for the tomato clock mode:

  1. Visit http://tomato-timer.com/ to get an electronic watch to help keep track of Pomodoro. To get started, just click Start. 25 minutes will begin to pass and this is the time you will have to concentrate on your current job. After 25 minutes, press Alt + S to give yourself 5 minutes to take a break. When the 5 minutes are up, a 25 minute interval starts again. For every 4 5-minute break, you get a 10-minute break by pressing Alt + L. You can repeat this cycle for 8 hours at the office and you will see I do more things but I don’t feel bored or tired like before.

Suggestions for watches that can be installed on computers and phones:

. Be Focused – Focus Timer (Apple) is ideal for iPhone and iPad. You can customize the time range to your liking, notification sounds, review work history and this app also provides a star-based rating system to motivate you to try.

. Simple Pomodoro (Android) is a time tracking app that doesn’t have as many customizations as other tools. However, it also provides you with useful notifications when it’s time to rest, work and keep track of how many Pomodoro you have completed during the day. More importantly, SimplePomodoro is also compatible with Google Tasks.

. Pomodorable (OS X) is a combination of a time management software Pomodoro method and a todo list software. With Pomodorable, you will know when the work is completed, what to do next and how much Pomodoro needs to be set to complete a task.

. Marinara Timer (Web): is a web application that allows you to set breaks and working hours. In general, the usage is quite similar to Tomato Timer.

I recommend experimenting with and testing a few different Pomodoro apps before settling on one. It took several months before I stabilized the simple ticking app that I use every day.
