Apple will change listening to music on smartphones forever

Tram Ho

Earlier this month there were some rumors about the big changes coming to the Apple Music app. Rumors have revealed that Apple is preparing to launch a new service, which offers lossless music for an additional monthly fee. Yesterday, these rumors seemed to have been confirmed, through some code data found inside the Apple Music for Android version.

The developers have discovered that the updated Apple Music app will have three or four different audio quality options: high-efficency, high-quality, lossless, and high-res lossless.

With a capacity of about 10GB, it can store 3,000 high-quality songs, or 1,000 lossless songs, or 200 lossless high-res songs. It is likely that Apple will introduce this new upgrade at the WWDC 2021 event, taking place on June 7 here.

Streaming high-quality songs will also consume more user data. For example, a 3-minute song played at high-efficiency can consume 1.5MB of data, at high-quality it can take up to 6MB, lossless quality will take up 36MB and high-res lossless can take up to 145MB of data.

Recently, Apple also posted an ad about changing music forever with the Apple Music app. Perhaps that change is the ability to stream music with lossless quality, providing a completely different and classy experience for users.
