Apple suddenly became the biggest smartphone brand in China

According to the latest Counterpoint report, Apple has surpassed Vivo to become the largest smartphone brand in the Chinese market, in October 2021. The iPhone maker also had the highest growth rate of all manufacturers. Smartphone production is now present in the Chinese market, with a growth rate of up to 46%.

“Apple could have captured more market share if it weren’t for the shortage of components, especially for the Pro versions. However, Apple is still managing its supply chain better than other OEMs,” said Counterpoint research director Tarun Pathak.
iPhone 13 contributed greatly to the success of Apple, when sales increased by 46%. Meanwhile, the entire Chinese smartphone market grew by only 2% month-on-month. Accordingly, Apple holds 22% of the Chinese smartphone market share, and holds the No.

Meanwhile, Huawei from the No. 1 position in China has lost everything, due to the impact of US sanctions. Huawei’s loss of market share also contributed greatly to helping Apple regain the No.
The last time Apple took the No. 1 spot in the Chinese market was in December 2015. Since then, Apple has faced many difficulties in this world’s most populous market. Not only are low-cost smartphone manufacturers in China fiercely competitive, but also boycotted by consumers.
