Apple today announced the results of Q2 / 2020 (Q3 fiscal 2020, ending June 27). This was also the time when the Covid-19 epidemic spread and affected the global economy. But nothing seems to slow down Apple’s money-making machine.

Analysts predict that Apple could achieve $ 52.3 billion in revenue and a profit of $ 2.07 per share. However, Apple has beaten all expectations, to achieve a total revenue of $ 59.7 billion (up 11% over the same period last year) and profit per share reached $ 2.58 (up 18%).

This is the first quarter with the presence of iPhone SE 2020 sales, which is Apple’s cheapest iPhone currently (priced from $ 399). IPhone revenue in Q2 / 2020 reached US $ 26.4 billion, up 2% from last year. Previously, experts predicted that revenue from the iPhone would only reach 22 billion USD. And as always, Apple didn’t announce details of how many iPhones it sold.

However, in Q2 / 2020, the main star is not the iPhone, but a Mac and iPad computer. Mac computer sales reached 7.1 billion USD, up 22% compared to last year. IPad revenue reached $ 6.5 billion, an increase of 31%. The cause of this growth was the Covid-19 epidemic, which caused many people to study and work from home, so sales of Mac and iPad grew strongly.

Apple’s services segment still grew steadily, achieving revenue of 13.2 billion USD, up 15%. Apple declined to make forecasts for the next quarter, due to the unpredictable effects of the Covid-19 epidemic.
