Apple patents ‘transforming’ iPad case

Apple has just been granted a patent for an extremely interesting iPad case that can transform into a multitude of shapes. The patent is approved and published by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

As you can see, the surface of the case design is divided into triangular blocks, all of which are capable of bending along the edges. The main function of this design is that users can freely shape the case to prop their device at the most comfortable angle.

Furthermore, the patent describes the accessory as “can also become an additional energy system through electrical energy stored in the structure”. Therefore, this case can also act as a power bank.

If Apple decided to turn this design into a real product for the iPad, it would be quite attractive for the iPhone to have a similar version. Probably everyone enjoys the freedom to organize their phone case into a convenient stand in any direction; Not only does it sound super fun, but it’s also much more convenient than always looking for something to hold your devices every time you want to put them on the table and watch a video.

However, like every other patent, this does not mean that Apple will make it a reality. Apple has patented many different designs, but most are still on paper.
