In the video, CEO Tim Cook said that Apple has shipped more than 20 million masks, through its supply chain worldwide. “This is a global effort, and we will work with national governments to make sure they are donated to the places we need it most,” Apple CEO said.

Apple’s second attempt, revealed by CEO Tim Cook, involved with product design departments, the engineering team, in designing and manufacturing protective masks. Instead of being like a mask with a cloth to cover the mouth and nose, a protective mask can cover the entire face with a clear plastic sheet, increasing protection from corona virus infection.

Apple delivered the first shipment of protective masks to health workers at Kaiser Hospital, Santa Clara last week, and received positive feedback from doctors. CEO Tim Cook said: “Each mask can be assembled in less than 2 minutes and can be adjusted to fit. We are continuing to look for raw materials and manufacturers in the US and China. ”

Apple plans to ship more than 1 million protective masks by the end of this week, and then can increase production in the coming weeks.
