Apple Music quietly dropped the first 3 months free trial policy

Tram Ho

Apple has quietly made a big change to the Apple Music streaming service, related to the first 3-month free trial policy when signing up. The 3-month free trial policy has helped Apple Music set itself apart from other music streaming services like Spotify, but now Apple Music will only give the first month for free like its competitors. .

9to5Mac discovered this silent change by Apple, without any official announcement. Apple Music’s website now says that all new users who sign up for a new subscription will only get a one-month free trial. After the end of the free trial period, the user’s account will automatically renew for a fee of $9.99/month.

This change applies to all countries where the Apple Music service is available, currently over 150 countries worldwide.

However, Apple will still offer a 6-month Apple Music trial to customers who purchase the new AirPods Pro, AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Max, Beats, and the new HomePod mini.

The subscription price of the Apple Music service will remain the same. Apple Music Voice and Apple Music Student Plans cost $4.99/month. The Apple Music personal plan costs $9.99/month, and the Apple Music Family plan costs $14.99/month.

This is considered a rather unexpected change, as Apple has long advertised that the 3-month free trial policy will set Apple Music apart from the competition. But now, it seems Apple wants to make money as quickly as possible from its services.
