Apple ‘interested’ in Man United?

Man United was put up for sale by the Glazer family earlier this week after 17 tumultuous years. Fans often protest against the American owners when this club is increasingly declining both on and off the pitch.

The Glazers are said to be ready to leave Man United as long as a reasonable agreement is reached. Some sources say American bosses want at least £5.8 billion.

This figure is of course within the reach of tech giant Apple, which has a net worth of up to £2 trillion. Apple is said to be considering owning one of the most iconic sports brands on the planet.

CEO Tim Cook is said to be very interested in the commercial opportunities that Man United brings to Apple.

According to Metro, if Apple is really interested in Man United, Apple may choose to partner with a club legend, David Beckham, who is said to be willing to cooperate with potential contractors. Beckham currently co-owns American football club Inter Miami.

According to the Financial Times, Beckham is open to discussions with potential Manchester United buyers who want him to play a part in the process.

A source close to Beckham revealed that several bidders have approached the former England captain.

Another potential buyer is British billionaire Sir Kim Ratcliffe. He said he was ready to make an offer after conducting feasibility studies of the deal earlier this year.

As a fan of United since childhood, Ratcliffe currently owns the Nice club from France but has never hidden his feelings for the “Red Devils”.

“I am a lifelong fan of United. I was there in 1999 to watch the most remarkable game of all time in Barcelona. So, you know, the club is etched in my mind,” Ratcliffe said last month.

“But Manchester United is owned by the Glazer family. I met Joe and Avram. They are decent people, decent gentlemen and they don’t want to sell.”
