We may have never seen anything similar to the images you are about to view. He left Google after an allegation of sexual harassment and continued his passion for establishing phone company Essential.

Essential’s new smartphone

The photos show us of a slender phone with a very, very high user interface including card-like applications. The phone looked incredibly small in Andy Rubin’s hand. The device has a large button and a volume rocker on the right side and a fingerprint sensor on the back (it seems to have only a single camera).

And as we can see, this phone has a lot of flashy color options.

The device will run Android

The original Essential Phone was known for its flashy design, including blue with gold accents called Ocean Depths. At the end of 2018, Bloomberg revealed that Essential is developing a phone with a smaller screen and is controlled primarily through voice commands, with the AI assistant automatically performing tasks for you. In December, Essential also confirmed it was developing its second phone.

If some leaked code was discovered by XDA-Developers and a recently leaked Essential trademark registration is correct, “GEM” could be the name of this smartphone. It can activate voice assistant when you touch your finger to the back. The leaked code also mentions a mode called “fingerprint walkie talkie” (most likely associated with activating the assistant by scanning a fingerprint). The device runs Android but is a bit strange when it leaks suggesting it will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor.

Currently, in addition to the recently leaked image, Essential has not revealed any further details regarding this mysterious device.
