“AirB” headphones were delayed for many months: How did Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang explain?

Tram Ho

In May last year, BKAV organized an event to launch the Bphone B86. Along with that, BKAV also announced many other products such as Bphone B40 and Bphone B60 in the low-cost segment, and especially the true wireless AirB headset.

Being set to launch and sell in July, but both Bphone B40, Bphone B60 and AirB are in stagnant state. As of the time of writing (mid-January 2021), all three products have no signs of appearing on the market. After being “scrutinized” by too many users, BKAV was forced to change the product status on its website from “Launching 07/2020” to “Coming Soon”.

The launch date of AirB was removed from the website by BKAV

During a livestream in September, CEO Nguyen Tu Quang once said that the “delay” of Bphone B40 and Bphone B60 was because BKAV is in the process of applying for Google Play Protect certificate, something that most previous generations of Bphone. are missing. However, this reason clearly does not apply to a headset, and the CEO did not give a specific reason why AirB is experiencing the same situation.

Recently, on social networks, Mr. Quang personally gave the reason AirB has been delayed for many months. Specifically, BKAV is working hard to develop a premium version of AirB with active noise cancellation, and this process has many difficulties that make the product not available on the market as originally intended.

“Congratulations to the Audio team for successfully researching the Hybrid ANC Active Noise Cancellation technology for wireless headphones using Qualcomm’s chipset. This technology will be equipped with AirB high-end wireless headphones. Bkav. will be one of the first in the world to produce the most high-end wireless headphones using Qualcomm’s chipset.

When I launched Bphone B86, I mentioned AirB with the intention to be on the market right after that. However, the plan changes, Bkav wants to develop two regular and high-end versions instead of one as originally intended. The research process for Hybrid ANC Active Noise Cancellation for the high-end version has been difficult, which is also the reason why AirB has not been on the market as we originally intended.

AirB, true wireless headset of BKAV

With the success of Team Audio, we promise we will have the most advanced AirBs in the near future. I will regularly update you on this research and production process “- Mr. Quang wrote on social networks.

However, the explanation of BKAV CEO Nguyen Tu Quang is somewhat contradictory with the information previously published by BKAV. Right from the launch of Bphone B86 (ie last May), official information of BKAV said that the company had plans to develop two different AirB models with code names “E01A” and “E01B”.

In particular, the popular “E01A” model uses Qualcomm’s QCC3026 chip, Bluetooth 5.0, supports aptX, a 6.5-hour battery, IP45 water resistance and charges via USB-C. The higher-end “E01B” model fully inherits the E01A’s technology but adds active noise cancellation (ANC), Bluetooth 5.1 and wireless charging support.

However, the fact that Mr. Quang personally confirmed that the AirB is in the development stage and has not “died from the eggs” is still good news for the Bfan. Let’s hope that in this year 2021, BKAV will “repay” for users of products that it missed last year.
