‘Addiction to work’ like Elon Musk: New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day 2020 to Tesla factory to ‘accelerate delivery’

Tram Ho

By the time 2019 is about to end, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has planned to spend time … to work – as always.

In a tweet posted on Monday, the Tesla founder said he was going to Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California, just at the beginning of the new year to “help speed up the delivery of Tesla cars”.

The tweet was posted to answer a question from fans asking if he will welcome the new year at the SpaceX office in Boca Chica, Texas.

Musk did not elaborate on whether he intended to work like a normal day in Fremont or whether to work overtime there as he always did.

Normally, near the end of each quarter, Tesla is very busy because it has to quickly deliver the car to complete the set plan

In fact, Musk regularly works on special occasions of the year, including his own birthday.

In June, the 48-year-old CEO was asked on Twitter what he planned to do for his birthday. Musk responded that he will work on “global transportation”, which is related to the delivery of Tesla cars.

Last year’s birthday, when Musk turned 47, was also tied to work. In an interview with the New York Times, Musk said he spent the entire day working alone in the Tesla office, without friends.

While working on birthdays can be seen as an ostentatious way to the media, it seems to be part of Musk’s personality, reflecting his “workaholism”.

Earlier this year, Musk was supposed to work 120 hours a week and said the 2018 schedule made him 5 years older.

Tesla delivered 97,000 vehicles in the third quarter of 2019 – a bit lower than analysts’ estimates but the record level the company achieved.

The company is expected to break this record again this quarter – possibly the reason Musk had to work on New Year’s Day.

Musk will also have to pay attention to China after Tesla delivered the first car to be produced here.
