A series of impressive Vietnamese works at the 2020 Aerial Photography Competition
- Tram Ho
This year’s competition has 22 major categories, spanning six general themes: Artificial, Nature, People, Fine Arts, Editorial and Real Estate.
The highest prize went to Belgian photographer Sebastien Nagy for a series of photos of city views with exotic structures from unusual perspectives. The highlight of Nagy’s entries is the photo of a hotel in Greece from an angle, making the space almost like a painting by the famous artist MC Escher.
One of the other outstanding works is the image of a fishing net of a fisherman in Vietnam suddenly forming a shape like the face of a woman.
Another Vietnamese photo participating in the contest, by photographer Prabu Mohan.
The work “Harvesting grass” by Khanh Phan.
Entries were sent from 65 countries. Unlike other strict aerial photography contests, this one accepts all types of photos taken from the “overhead point of view”. It allows photographers to create compositions from anywhere such as photos taken from drones, photographed from helicopters or airplanes, or even looking down from the top of a tall building.
