5 Android 11 features ‘borrowed’ from iOS

After releasing the Android 11 developer preview for developers a few months ago, today Google has officially launched the Android 11 public beta version for users. Android 11 has a lot of changes and new features, but there are some features that iOS users are familiar with and have used for a long time.

Android 11 has many new features that are quite similar to iOS.

Menu that controls smart home devices at the operating system level

Press and hold the power button to bring up the Smart Home Device Control Menu.

One of the most notable new changes of Android 11 is the driver of smart home devices at the operating system level, instead of being inside an application, through pressing and holding the power button. Just like iOS, you can control your smart home devices, like Google Home, without leaving the application.

One-time licensing

Increase security by granting application rights only once.

Like the feature Apple debuted on iOS 13, Android 11 now has an option to give the app permission to access location or camera on a case by case basis. Therefore, instead of a long-term license like before, Android 11 has a one-time licensing option, after which the application will have to request a new license to access smartphone features, in order to enhance the protection. Privacy and avoid being tracked.

AirPlay on Android

New media player, can easily emit bluetooth speakers or Google Home.

Google has also made it easier to play and switch between media devices (like bluetooth speakers or Google Home), through a new feature that is located in the notification menu. It is basically similar to the AirPlay feature, but is connected to Google’s smart speakers.

Smartphone screen capture interface

After taking the screenshot, the image will appear in the lower corner, click to edit.

Android 11 brings a slightly modified screen capture interface, similar to the one introduced by Apple on iOS 11. Screen capture on Android 11 will bring up a preview in the bottom corner of the screen, you have Click to edit or share. Previously, screenshots and editing options would be included in the notification tray.

Record screen video

Screen recording is located right in Quick Settings.

Although this is not a feature that iOS has before, but implementing this feature on Android 11 of Google is quite similar to iOS. Previously, Google made it difficult to record screen videos on Android smartphones. But now, Google is learning iOS when it comes to Quick Settings and can be activated with just one click.

In addition, the Android 11 public beta has a lot of changes and many other new features, so stay tuned for our more detailed reviews.
