2021 Huawei MateBook D 14 and D 15 release: Intel 11th generation CPU, 180 degree screen, MX450 card, price from 17.7 million

At the launch event of Nova 8 series yesterday, Huawei also launched two new laptops named MateBook D 14 and D 15 2021 version. This is an upgrade of the D 14 and 15 series launched late last year at Chinese market, with the main innovation coming from the latest 11th generation Intel chip.

At present, both Huawei MateBook D 14 and D 15 series have two versions using Intel Gen 10th and AMD Ryzen 4000 series chips. This 2021 version will be an upgrade of a variant using Intel chips and it is likely that next year, an upgrade of the AMD chip line will also be added by Huawei soon.

The MateBook D 14 and D 15 (2021) are equipped with 14-inch and 15.6-inch IPS LCD screens, Full HD resolution, 300 nits of brightness and both have 180-degree hinges. This screen gives a relatively good display quality with the ability to display 100% of the sRGB color range. In addition to the difference in screen size, both machines have the same design, are finished from monolithic metal to bring a feeling of luxury.

In terms of performance, both the D 14 and D 15 (2021) have two Intel CPU options, the Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7, which comes with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. In addition, with the Core i7 version, the machine will be integrated with Nvidia GeForce MX450 discrete graphics to improve graphics performance, while the standard Core i5 version only has integrated Intel Xe Graphics card.

In terms of ports, the MateBook D 14 and D 15 (2021) come with one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, one HDMI port, one 3.5mm headphone jack and one USB Type-C port. The 14-inch version weighs 1.38kg while the 15-inch version weighs 1.56kg. Huawei does not announce the battery life of the two machines, but it does mention 65W fast charging technology with the included charger.
